General Risk Warning: The financial products offered by the company carry a high level of risk and can result in the loss of all your funds. You should never invest money that you cannot afford to lose.

"RISK WARNING: YOUR CAPITAL MIGHT BE AT RISK"

"CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Between 74-89% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money."

Options are a type of derivative security. Specifically, options are contracts that grant the right, but not the obligation to buy or sell an underlying asset at a set price on or before a certain date. The right to buy is called a call option and the right to sell is a put option. Options 101. When you buy a call option, you have the right but not the obligation to purchase a stock at the strike price any time before the option expires. When you buy a put option, you have the right but not the obligation to sell a stock at the strike price any time before the expiration date.

Options are excellent tools for both position trading and risk management, but finding the right strategy is key to using these tools to your advantage. An option gives its holder the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell the underlying asset at a specified price on or before its expiration date. For example, if a stock is trading at $30 and you think it will rise to $35, you could buy 100 shares of stock which will cost $3,000. Alternatively, you could buy a call option with a strike price of $32 that expires in two months. The cost of the option is $0.60, or $60 ($0.60 x 100).

If you exercise your call option, you will be given stock at the strike price of the call option. When you exercise a put option, you have the right to sell your stock at the strike price of the put option. Choice #3: Do nothing until option expiration. If the option is out-of-the-money (OTM), it will expire worthless. Option buyers have the right, but not the obligation, to buy (call) or sell (put) the underlying stock (or futures contract) at a specified price until the 3rd Friday of their expiration month. Put options give you the right to sell the underlying asset.

Stock options give you the right, but not the obligation, to buy or sell shares at a set dollar amount — the "strike price" — before a specific expiration date. When a "call" option hits its strike price, the stock can be called away. Conversely, with a "put" option the shares can be sold, or "put," to someone else. Yes. The day-trading margin rule applies to day trading in any security, including options. You will be considered a pattern day trader if you trade four or more times in five business days and your day-trading activities are greater than six percent of your total trading activity for that same five-day period.

Options strategy. Option strategies are the simultaneous, and often mixed, buying or selling of one or more options that differ in one or more of the options' variables. Call options, simply known as calls, give the buyer a right to buy a particular stock at that option's strike price. Definition. Buying an equity call gives the owner the right, but not the obligation, to buy 100 shares of underlying stock at a specified price (the strike price) at any time before a specific time (the expiration date).
